Pink Wednesday - Rimmel LycraPro in Velvet Rose 306

Happy Pink Wednesday everyone!

Today I want to show you Rimmel’s Velvet Rose.
This is my go-to polish if I need a ‘quick mani’.
I absolutely love this polish. I love everything about it, the colour, the formula, the brush.
The colour is pretty dusky pink/mauve with creme finish.
Despite the thickness the formula is great. It's very opaque; you could use one coat, but the second coat really makes the colour stand out. It also dries pretty fast.

Perfect manicure in just one coat.
I did not use any basecoat or topcoat.

Two coats, no basecoat or topcoat

The curved shape of the brush makes it easier to avoid cuticles.

I purchased this polish with my own hard earned cash. I think  it is a bargain and well worth every penny!!!

Summer essence collections + my first giveaway

The Giveaway is now closed!

Hi everyone,

I hope that you all had a lovely weekend and a good Monday.
I did a little shopping on Saturday and as always I couldn’t resist looking at some polishes. The new Essence collection caught my eye.
Apparently, there are currently two Essence collections out there: Ballerina BACKSTAGE and NAILS in style.

I was tempted to buy all the polishes in these two collections, but because I am a good girl and I have way too many polishes, I didnt.

However, I couldn’t resist picking some polishes for a small giveaway.

So here are the four shades that I have picked for you:

Style Me Holo - a nice duochrome polish with purple, green and blue undertone shades. It looks stylish but not too overwhelming. The picture doesnt do justice to this polish as I have not managed to capture the undertone shimmer shades.
Essence NAILS in style - STYLE ME HOLO

Style For Summer Nights - a silver polish with metallic foil finish.
Again, this picture is not the best one, but the sun did not want to show up :(
Essence NAILS in style - STYLE FOR SUMMERNIGHTS

Wear Your Little Tutu -  light pink shade with shimmer,  perfect for everyday manicure for work or school.
Essence Ballerina BACKSTAGE - WEAR YOUR LITTLE TUTU

Dance the Swan Lake - white nail polish with pinkish undertone shimmer, again perfect shade for everyday clean looking nails.

Catrice Lavenderlicious

Catrice Lavenderlicious came out with limited spring edition called "Enter Wonderland". It  is a lovely pale lavender cream.
I was pleasantly surprised by the qualtity of this polish. It was easy to work with it, applied smoothly and dried quite well. Initially there was some streakiness but  the polish evened itself out after the second coat.

The colour itself is not unique in any way, but if you are looking for a pale lavender colour and you have access to Catrice I recommend trying this.
I used three coats, no basecoat or topcoat

The bottle is super cute :)

Mini Nail Polish Haul

It’s always exciting to buy new nail polishes, isn’t it?
This is my latest purchase which I am very excited about.

I love discovering and trying new nail polish brands and this is my first purchase of KIKO nail polishes.
After reading many good reviews and seeing some pretty swatches, I didn’t hesitate.

I immediately fell in love with these dusky colours. can’t wait to try them out and post swatches and review.

They normally retail for € 3,90, but I got them on a special offer for 2,50 each.

KIKO 345, KIKO 329, KIKO 338

Kiko is an Italian make-up brand but it is also sold in other European countries. Is Kiko sold in your country? Have you  tried any KIKO products?

Beside that, I wanted to add some nail art tools to my collection so I bought some Essence products. I am rather curious if I can get a good results with this Nail Art Stampy Set.  I have tried several brands before, but none seemed to work.
Any tips on how to make stamping plates work???

China Glaze Anchors Away collection 2011 Pelican Gray

Pelican Gray is another polish that I own from China Glaze's Spring 2011 Anchors Away collection. It is a lovely pale grey with blue undertones and very subtle silver shimmer. I think it is a perfect colour for work without being boring. Again as with the Sea Spray I found that  the formula of the polish was thick and needed to be thinned down.
Overall it’s a very pretty polish and I’m happy to have it in my collection.

I used three coats, no basecoat or topcoat.

One coat of Sally Hansen Diamond Strength 05 Diamonds

China Glaze Anchors Away Spring 2011 Collection: Sea Spray

Sea Spray came out in Anchors Away Spring 2011 Collection. It is a soft baby blue with a subtle micro shimmer. Unless you look very closely, it will appear to be a cream finish. I love the colour and I think it suits my skin tone. However, I didn't like the application of this polish. I found the formula thick, streaky and hard to work with. Would not repurchase, but I am happy to have it in my collection. :)

Pink Wednesday: Nivea 32 Milkshake

I bought this polish on my trip to Vienna few months ago. I love this soft dusky shade of pink. You can see some soft shimmer when it is in the bottle but it disappears once applied. Dries fairly well and leaves no streaks. The only disadvantage is that it is rather pricey. It cost me 10 € for a 10ml bottle (14 $ for ⅓ Fl.Oz.).

I didn´t used any topcoat or basecoat.

                                          Happy Pink Wednesday!!!!!
