Essence Special Effect Topper over Essie French Affair - Pink Wednesday

Hello everyone,

Here's my Pink Wednesday post for you. Today, I have decided to do a simple and quick manicure. I am wearing Essie French Affair with Essence Special Effect Topper. I love this combination. Essie French Affair is a bit streaky and hard to work with, but with a glitter top coat I can hide some imperfections :)

Have a lovely Pink Wednesday everyone!!!

OPI - Skull and glossbones

Skull and glossbones is a unique light and creamy greenish grey. The colour is mild enough to be worn to work, but still pretty unusual and fashionable. It goes on smoothly and after drying it looks nice and glossy even without a top coat.  Three coats will give you flawlessly opaque creme coverage, but you could get away with two. It also dries really quickly. Totally recommend!

Catrice - Khaki Perry 680

Catrice Khaki Perry came out in limited Modern Muse eddition.Catrice describes this edition as:

“So Brigitte Bardot, so beautiful – the new Limited Edition “Modern Muse” by CATRICE interprets the legendary style icons of the 60’s in a whole new manner this August and September 2011!
The nails – elegant, with a metallic shine – perfectly suited to the style. Modern muses – that’s us!”

I find this polish hard to describe so I will just say that it is khaki metallic with silver and gold shimmer. The formula was a little bit thick but a few drops of thinner solved it.
The coverage was pretty decent, but it required 2 coats. Definitely not one coater as Catrice describes it.
I will definitely enjoy wearing this polish all autumn.

3 coats, no top coat, no base coat

Pink Wednesday - Avon Pink Radiance

Happy Pink Wednesday :-))
This week I have chosen Avon’s Nailwear Pro in Pink Radiance.
This is a lovely girly pink foil, so bright and fun. I think it is a great colour for summer.
It doesn’t streak and it goes opaque with one coat, but I but I used two coats for full coverage.
The only disadvantage is, that it takes a while to dry.
Overall, I am happy to have this polish in my collection, I love wearing it on my toes too.

two coats ,basecoat (Essie 3-way glaze), no topcoat

Pink Wednesday - Rimmel LycraPro in Velvet Rose 306

Happy Pink Wednesday everyone!

Today I want to show you Rimmel’s Velvet Rose.
This is my go-to polish if I need a ‘quick mani’.
I absolutely love this polish. I love everything about it, the colour, the formula, the brush.
The colour is pretty dusky pink/mauve with creme finish.
Despite the thickness the formula is great. It's very opaque; you could use one coat, but the second coat really makes the colour stand out. It also dries pretty fast.

Perfect manicure in just one coat.
I did not use any basecoat or topcoat.
Two coats, no basecoat or topcoat

The curved shape of the brush makes it easier to avoid cuticles.

I purchased this polish with my own hard earned cash. I think  it is a bargain and well worth every penny!!!

Summer essence collections + my first giveaway

The Giveaway is now closed!

Hi everyone,

I hope that you all had a lovely weekend and a good Monday.
I did a little shopping on Saturday and as always I couldn’t resist looking at some polishes. The new Essence collection caught my eye.
Apparently, there are currently two Essence collections out there: Ballerina BACKSTAGE and NAILS in style.

I was tempted to buy all the polishes in these two collections, but because I am a good girl and I have way too many polishes, I didnt.

However, I couldn’t resist picking some polishes for a small giveaway.

So here are the four shades that I have picked for you:

Style Me Holo - a nice duochrome polish with purple, green and blue undertone shades. It looks stylish but not too overwhelming. The picture doesnt do justice to this polish as I have not managed to capture the undertone shimmer shades.
Essence NAILS in style - STYLE ME HOLO

Style For Summer Nights - a silver polish with metallic foil finish.
Again, this picture is not the best one, but the sun did not want to show up :(
Wear Your Little Tutu -  light pink shade with shimmer,  perfect for everyday manicure for work or school.

Dance the Swan Lake - white nail polish with pinkish undertone shimmer, again perfect shade for everyday clean looking nails.
